Our History

From a small family-owned repair shop, Portside Marine has grown into one of the North Shore’s premier full-service marine facilities. Our certified technicians provide expert service for Mercury®, MerCruiser®, and Volvo Penta® products, while our waterfront facility offers professional repairs, boat hauling, seasonal storage, repowers, and a fully stocked parts and retail department.

Portside Marine has been proudly serving the North Shore boating community with a commitment to quality workmanship, exceptional customer service, and honest business practices.

1983

Portside Marine was founded in Danvers, Massachusetts, by Ron LeBlanc, whose passion for boating and dedication to customer service quickly earned the company a reputation as one of the area’s most trusted marine repair facilities. Specializing in inboard, sterndrive, and outboard service, Ron built the business on a simple philosophy: treat every customer’s boat as if it were your own.

1986

Ron’s son Rob LeBlanc joined the company. Together, father and son expanded Portside Marine’s reputation, providing expert service not only to individual boat owners but also to many of the North Shore’s largest marinas.

2001

Following Ron’s passing, Rob carried on his father’s vision and led the company into its next chapter. He purchased the Liberty Street property on the Danvers River, creating the waterfront facility that serves as Portside Marine’s home today. With decades of hands-on experience and factory certifications from Mercury Marine and Volvo Penta, Rob has continued to build Portside’s reputation for technical excellence, mentoring the next generation of marine technicians along the way.

2008

Peter Bramberg joined Portside Marine as a partner, bringing extensive business and operational experience to the company. Peter has helped guide Portside’s continued growth while overseeing the modernization and expansion of the facility and its services.

Today

Peter, and the entire Portside Marine team remain committed to the values that have defined the company for more than four decades: integrity, craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service.
